POLICE NOW ACTIVE ON MYNYDD Y BETWS FEARING ATTACKS OR SABOTAGE OF THE WIN…

The police have no lawful right to interfere with peaceful protest. I call for international condemnation of any police harassment of peaceful protest, that is a clear violation of the European Convention on Human Rights. After a certain level of seniority they are imported from forces outside Wales, very many cannot speak the Welsh language at all. I have been helping them combat arson, biker and horse riding vandalism that has torn apart the ecology of Gelliwastad. They were ineffective, slow to react, their emergency 999 system put me through to Glasgow in Scotland and held me in a queue for twenty minutes. By that time all vandals had vanished. I go out in all weather, unarmed and single handed against vicious vandals, they venture out only occasionally and reluctantly. Sweeping reforms are needed: the police force in Wales must be entirely Welsh speaking, with local Welsh speaking police situated in villages, as it used to be here in Craig Cefn Parc. There are no police stations open in the entire Swansea Valley because of government cuts. The general public is not allowed to enter the stations, they have to go to Swansea Central. The police have no right to question peaceful campers or demonstrators. The Archbishop of Canterbury was once arrested by the police for taking part in a demonstration, his College paid his fine. So not only is the landscape being ripped apart by foreign aristocratic greed, but the police are being used to waste public finance and to harass peaceful demonstrators. I urge the Trade Union Movement to instigate work to rule against all turbine installations, and selective strike action all over Europe. In the coal strikes of the eighties, the local police would often refuse to act against the miners. Similarly imported regiments have been used in the past, in the 1926 General Strike and the Merthyr Riots. These are the methods of an oppressive colonial regime.

A dedicated activist supporter (true ‘Stryvelander’ and a Glyndwr Rambler) has been camping out on Mynydd y Betws all week, observing if the archaeology is being damaged, putting up posters and taking photos of Turbines. Sian and I went up onto Mynydd y Betws to see if all was alright for her and see how her supplies were lasting out but she was not there (her phone was down) so we are going up later today to resupply but in meantime note this interesting email from her we received this morning and see poster I have attached concerning heightened Police activity on the mountain:

The Email:

Got the leaflets-what to do with
> them? A bit soggy as only got them this morning. While was
> looking just after you phoned police came along took my
> name address & asked me if i was a protestor so had to
> say yes. asked me if anyone else camping – i said no. said i
> wish to walk where its legal & take photos & tell
> people . they said do you mean after -I said yes as did not
> know of your protest then. They said they are up there every night

> now for fear of damage to windfarm, I said i dont want to
> damage anything as i am concerned about THE WINDFARM damaging
> the landscape etc! emphasised i’ve nothing against workers
> as theyre doing their job & any protest completely
> peaceful.

vVery interesting, now noting the above commitment can I request Patriots coming to the Rally on Sunday in Pontardawe, especially those coming from Sir Gar can as many as possible cross over Mynydd y Betws and put up more protest posters where ever possible and as many as possible. C’mon now as we need as much steping up of ACTION as possible on the mountain and in the communities all around the Mountain, so go to it. Just see how much Postering I and Sian have done all and everywhere.

See Three Photos Attached:

Police Owl, Slogan and Fence at MYB/WMP Site Entrance just south of Gwuan Cae Gurwen, it will be this fence we will be creativelly working on Sunday after rally, so bring plenty of Banners, Placards and Posters to put up and leave for Monday and continuation of Turbine Deliveries to mountain via this site entrance.
