Visit to Dunefawr

I have posted on the blog a short account of our visit to Dunefawr (Dynevor) today, where we saw the interior of Newton House. It was a great pleasure meeting Lynne Joseph and his wife, and also my distant cousin Stuart Davies. Among many other things we discussed the pronunciation of Latin, Lynne and I were taught to pronounce it with a hard C and a v pronounced like a w. Stuart was taught the equivalent of church Latin with a soft C and a v. This is exemplified in “Caesar in Britannia advenit”. I have given a short account on the web of the magnificent book of genealogy that Lynne showed us.
