Visit to Picton Castle

My wife and I paid a visit to Picton Castle today, home of the Philips family, which descends from Gwgon ap Blegwrd ap Bleddyn ap Maenarch, my own direct ancestor. The castle was build about seven hundred years ago and is still in pristine condition. We were shown around by a descendant of Lt. Gen. Sir Thomas Picton, one of Wellington’s best generals (www.pictoncastle.co.uk). There is a portrait there of the Prime Minister Sir Robert Walpole, who was associated with the family.
